Hi there! Thanks for your interest in learning more about me. I am an American writer who has traveled to six continents and 42 countries around the globe, and happily lived in some of them. I earned my bachelor's degree in French Literature and speak French, Spanish and Italian. After studying at Sorbonne University in Paris, I was hired as a liaison at UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Europe was home for nine years and my children, Valentina and Mario, were born in Rimini and Venice, Italy. My wonderful international travel opportunities allowed me to absorb a wealth of experiences
from the perspective of a tourist, a resident and a mom, and prepared me to craft the CLUB US series from an authentic perspective.
I published a parenting publication for 12 years, was chosen Mother of the Year by the LV Review Journal (which was one of my proudest moments), founded The Future is Mine, a youth empowerment program, and am the president of Going Places International a boutique travel company that provides intimate, global travel experiences for people who, like me, have a desire to see as much of this beautiful world as possible.
I'm truly lucky to be a wife, a mom, a grandmother and the best friend (at least I'd like to think so) to four adorable Chinese Crested pups, Diesel, Beau, Monster and Bella. I am also honored to be a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
CLUB US, a series of exciting international adventures for middle-grade readers, is a lifelong dream come true. I look forward to exposing my readers to new cultures, while learning languages, history, geography and the value of teamwork. It will also be exciting and to meet kids, just like them, from around the globe and see that we really are all the same. Most importantly I hope to re-introduce reading to the future leaders of our world.
